Statement
The invisible exists.
This conviction runs through all of my work.
I am fascinated by everything that inhabits us without always revealing itself: memories of which sometimes only a sensation remains, the emotions that pass through us, the stories that precede us, the absences that continue to be present, the legacies passed from one generation to the next that shape the way we are in the world.
We are inhabited by far more than we are aware of.
Some things belong to us. Others have been passed down to us. They coexist within us, blend with our experiences, and help shape our gaze, our sensibility, and our identity.
I seek to make this invisible part of existence perceptible.
My works are built layer upon layer. Some appear while others recede, but none ever fully disappears. What has been covered remains present and continues to act upon the whole.
I paint as I exist: in layers.

Words also hold a central place in my work. Each painting begins with a phrase of intention written on the primed canvas, gradually covered by the paint. At the end, another phrase answers it, engraved into the still-wet surface. It remains present, sometimes barely legible, like certain experiences, memories, or emotions that continue to live within us without always being within reach.

Absence has a presence too.
I do not seek to provide answers. For me, painting is a space of exploration. A way of approaching what connects us, transforms us, and shapes us at the deepest level.
When someone stops in front of a painting and tells me, “I don't know why, but it moves me,” then something has happened.

It is in this space, between the visible and the invisible, that my work takes shape.
