BIOGRAPHY

Alina Schiau (pronounced Skiaou) was born in Romania and came to Switzerland at the age of 2 as a political refugee.

Inspired by her family history, marked by the quest for freedom and the choice to follow her own path, she found art an essential means of expression. After starting out as a graphic designer and radio presenter, Alina left Geneva to settle in Paris in 2007.

Her journey through different artistic worlds shaped her singular creativity, which she now expresses through abstract painting.

Since 2019, she has devoted herself entirely to this pictorial approach, exploring abstraction as a territory of artistic freedom and an opening onto infinite creative possibilities.

Her technique is based on the application of successive layers of colour that overlap and interact with each other. This method allows her to explore chromatic relationships in an approach that is both intuitive and rigorous, creating spaces where tension and visual harmony coexist.
