Words have always been an integral part of Alina Schiau's work, but with the SWORD series, they assert themselves with the aim of engaging in a dialogue.
She loves words, for their meanings, their calligraphy, their harmonies, their shapes and their futures. The series is built around several chapters: gazing at Her, gazing at You, gazing at Art, gazing at Us, gazing at It. These are all gazes on women, on the Other, on Art, on our society and on the planet.
And given his love of the second degree, the reference to Zorro, the masked vigilante who signs with the point of his sword, is no coincidence.
The SWORD series is about life and creation. They merge, intersect and mix in life and death, opening up a dialogue on the ills of an entire era.
